Alright, so, I managed to catch the Dialga and Palkia in Platinum, but there are still a few legendaries that I need to scoop up before I shelve it for the forseeable future. There is one last roamer left to catch, Cresselia, and two stationary ones, Regigigas and Heatran. Heatran is an obvious choice, because its typing and ability Flash Fire make it nice to use in competition, and popping an Air Balloon on it gives it a twist turn if someone’s expecting to one-shot it with Earthquake. He’s found all the way at the end of Stark Mountain, though, so I’ve got a ways to go before I can pick him up.
Regigigas will be by far the easiest to obtain of the three. He’s found in the Snowpoint Temple after you’ve beaten the Elite Four for the first time, and obtained by having the three Regis (Regice, Registeel, Regirock) in your party when you talk to it inside. The three Regis can be found in Emerald, or if you have an event lv. 100 Regigigas in your party, you can also find them in Platinum, where they spawn at specific locations. Anyway, this Regigigas is only level 1, so really, all I need is a few Ultra Balls and a modicum of patience. He’s the weakest of the remaining legendaries, though. Slow Start is a HORRIBLE ability. The only time you can reliably survive the 5 turns to get his Attack and Speed up to 100% is in Rotation Battles, because stalling with a Regigigas for 5 turns, even in doubles or triples, is a major challenge.
Cresselia I have mixed feelings about. She’s a roamer, so I’ve only got the one chance to get it, and its IVs will be fixed. I guess I’ll see if I get lucky, and if nothing else, she’ll be a replacement placeholder in my collection, and I can release the one I was traded that I have strong feelings was hacked.
After those three, I should have all the relevant legendaries from Platinum. I’ll be sure to provide updates for my other pickup projects in Emerald and SoulSilver as well, because there are still a few stragglers, like Ho-Oh, Latios and some legit Regis, that I need to sweep up.
